Jinfan is committed to helping pulp and paper companies improve efficiency, save energy, and reduce environmental impact through its high-efficiency plate heat exchanger
Paper is a vital commodity in contemporary civilization. Derived from trees, pulp serves as a renewable and biodegradable resource. Its versatility knows no bounds, finding applications in everyday items like tissues, books, and baby wipes, to the more innovative, such as car filters, LCD screens, renewable fuel, and stickers. The Pulp and Paper Industry is the industry that uses plant fibers to produce pulp, paper, paperboard, and other fiber-based products through a series of mechanical or chemical processes. Globally, the paper industry is the fifth largest energy consumer, accounting for approximately 4% of total global energy consumption. The paper production process requires a significant amount of steam and electricity. Plate heat exchangers, with advantages of high heat exchange efficiency, compact structure and easy cleaning, have been widely used in various processes of paper mills.

A plate heat exchanger is a heat exchange device composed of a series of special corrugated metal plates. A thin, wide fluid channel is formed between two plates, enabling indirect heat exchange between two fluids at different temperatures. It mainly consists of a clamping plate, plate assemblies, sealing gaskets, and clamping bolts. The plates are alternately suspended within a frame and sealed with gaskets. An independent fluid channel is formed between adjacent plates. The four corner holes on each plate, after being clamped, form inlet and outlet channels and distribution channels for the fluid. Hot and cold fluids enter the heat exchanger from their respective inlets, and the heat from the hot fluid is transferred to the cold fluid through the plate walls. After heat exchange, both fluids exit from their respective outlets.
Paper mill production processes generate large amounts of high-temperature wastewater, exhaust gas, and steam condensate. Plate heat exchangers are ideal for recovering this low-grade heat energy to significantly reduce boiler steam consumption.
Plate heat exchangers can be used to heat slurry to specific temperatures before processes like bleaching or refining. They also efficiently heat process water used for washing, dilution, or chemical preparation, reducing the load on upstream heating sources.
PHEs are essential for cooling various fluids to ensure stable equipment and process quality. They are used to cool lubricating oil or bearing water in large equipment, causticizing solutions, certain chemicals, or coating solutions.
JINFAN Wide Gap Plate Heat Exchangers are excellently tailored for handling media that contain solids and pulp. Their low initial investment and operational expenses make them a practical alternative to traditional shell-and-tube and spiral heat exchangers.
